(San Antonio, Texas--December 31, 2007) NewTek, Inc., manufacturer of industry-leading video and 3D animation products, announced today that its TriCaster™ portable live production suite will be used by the NHL to conduct an historic live Web cast of their pre-game show for the inaugural Amp Energy NHL Winter Classic at Buffalo’s Ralph Wilson Stadium on Jan 1 at 11am EST/10am CST from Buffalo New York.

The game will feature the Pittsburg Penguins and the Buffalo Sabres in the first outdoor regular season match-up on American soil in the history of the National Hockey League. The game will be played on New Years day in front of a sell-out crowd of over 70,000 fans. The one-hour live pre-game Web cast, featuring NHL TV’s Sam Rosen and Bill Clement and produced using the NewTek TriCaster, will provide up-to-the-minute information on the game, the ice surface and weather conditions, review the build-up of the outdoor rink and interview the players who will make U.S. hockey history.
