(Milpitas, California--January 31, 2008) HighPoint Technologies announces that the RocketRAID 2314, 2320 and 2310 SATA II RAID Controllers are validated by Matrox for Matrox (Axio LE High Definition) and RT.X2 Standard Definition video editing systems.

The RocketRAID 2314 is an external 4 port PCI-Express SATA II RAID host adapter card that is compatible with any PC or Mac equipped with a PCI-Express slot. The RocketRAID 2314 features 4 high speed eSATA connections to connect 4 external SATA devices. With Port Multiplier functionality the RocketRAID 2314 can support up to 20 hard drives.

The RocketRAID 2320 is an 8 port PCI-Express SATA II RAID host adapter. With support for up to 8 SATA hard drives the RocketRAID 2320 will offer sustained data transfer rates over 500MB/s for Read and Write. The RocketRAID 2320 is meets the most demanding digital media requirements and works flawlessly with Matrox video editing solutions.

The RocketRAID 2310 is an 4 port PCI-Express SATA II RAID host adapter supporting high capacity SATA drives and sustained data transfers. The RocketRAID 2310 is ideal for connecting to video and photo editing "scratch disks". And for huge digital libraries and small to medium business file servers.

The Matrox Axio LE editing system is a computer system with the fastest GPU, and the largest, most robust storage subsystem. The system offers the absolute maximum number of realtime layers and effects. The Matrox Axio LE relies on the power of your CPU to perform some effects and to decode and encode compressed video streams such as HDV and DV. The RocketRAID 2000 series of SATA RAID Controllers were validated to work in the Matrox Axio LE editing system by meeting the storage bandwidth requirements.

The Matrox RT.X2 editing system relies on the power of your CPU to perform some effects and to decode and encode video streams. The system requires a chassis that can accommodate a full-length card. Matrox RT.X2 SD is a standard-sized PCI-Express card that fits in any standard computer chassis. It relies on the power of the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) in your system to process Matrox hardware-accelerated effects (Flex GPU effects). The RocketRAID 2000 series of SATA RAID Controllers were validated to work in the Matrox RT.X2 system editing system by meeting the storage bandwidth requirements.
