(Las Vegas NAB, Nevada--April 14, 2008) Softron Media Services today formally introduced and announced the immediate availability of OnTheAir Switch, version 1.0. OnTheAir Switch provides all Macintosh users in a network the ability to control matrix switches from their workstation.

Like other Softron Media Services applications, OnTheAir Switch is AppleScriptable allowing switch control to be run from other applications such as OnTheAir Video and OnTheAir CG as well as in standalone mode. Interactive and automated switching of inputs is easily done using a Macintosh “Look and Feel.” OnTheAir Switch ships with support for Leitch, Thomson and Kramer matrix switches today - additional support for other models will be added on a regular basis. OnTheAir Switch is updatable with additional plug-ins that Softron will provide on line to licensed users.

“We constantly received requests for a product such as OnTheAir Switch, something that could be used in conjunction with our products as well as products from other manufacturers. Our desire is that OnTheAir Switch become a broad based matrix switch control application and that we will have opportunity to add devices to enhance functionality of the program regularly, said Pierre Chevalier, Softron’s Marketing Manager. “We are really happy with the way the product has been received by beta testers and are confident that it will be widely used, by our own existing customers and others in non-broadcast video markets.”

OnTheAir Switch is available immediately and is priced at US $ 775. (€ 495.)
