(New York City, New York--October 17, 2008) Northern Lights is pleased to welcome Robin Hall as Executive Producer. Hall brings extensive experience in production and postproduction, having worked at editorial companies Bluerock, Crew Cuts and Chickonkey, and running his own production company, King Winter Productions.
"Robin excels at looking at the bigger picture, and has clear ideas of how to grow the company. We're excited to have him on board," says Northern Lights Partner David Gioiella.
"When [Partners] David Gioiella and Mark Littman contacted me, we hit it off instantly on a personal level," adds Hall. "We shared a lot of the same ideas on post in the modern age -- how to be a successful post facility, the importance of the quality of the work, and how success follows good work. The chemistry with David and Mark is what made me want to make the move. They have a solid understanding of the business, and a great track record, which I admire."
"Robin really understands the balance of creativity and good business," says Northern Lights Partner Mark Littman. "That's why we think he's ideal to lead the next phase of our growth."
Hall was most recently at Bluerock where he produced for seven editors, and facilitated seamless collaborations with the company's graphics, online and mixing departments. Prior to that, he enjoyed a two-year tenure as Executive Producer at Chickonkey. From 1988 - 2000, Hall was with Crew Cuts, working his way up from Producer to Executive Producer in the New York office. Project highlights include campaigns for Pepsi, Visa, Super Bowl, HBO, and Pizza Hut. He then opened Crew Cuts West (in Los Angeles and San Francisco) as Executive Producer from 1997 - 2000, where he produced campaigns for Saturn, Nike and IBM. Other notable positions include owner of King Winter Productions, a production company based in Austin, Texas, post producer on several reality TV pilots, and even a brief stint as a yoga instructor in Santa Monica, California.
"My immediate focus is to raise the exposure of our editors," comments Hall. "There's a lot of great talent here and I want to make sure people know it. Northern Lights and [sister company] Mr. Wonderful follow the same philosophy of providing a myriad of high-quality services. My experience in large diverse companies lends itself to being an executive producer here. I'll be able to work closely with Mr. Wonderful to make sure we get things done as professionally and creatively as possible."
