(Coral Springs, Florida--December 19, 2008) da Vinci Systems, a subsidiary of JDS Uniphase Corporation (Nasdaq – JDSU), announced today that Russ Chesley, a 30-year entertainment industry veteran, has joined da Vinci as director of worldwide strategic accounts. Chesley will help da Vinci respond to emerging trends and challenges within the industry and will work to strengthen the company's strategic partnerships and accounts.
"Mr. Chesley will take the lead in managing da Vinci Systems' relationships with our client-partners, creating joint development plans, and working toward even stronger business relationships worldwide," said Mark Malonowski, da Vinci's general manager. "His long experience in, and intimate knowledge of our industry will be a tremendous asset."
During the past 30 years, Chesley has held executive positions with leading entertainment companies, most recently acting in senior sales and market development positions at Dolby Laboratories Inc., where he served clients that included Disney, Time Warner, Paramount Pictures, DreamWorks, Technicolor, Deluxe, and Ascent Media. Previously, Chesley held executive positions with Showscan Entertainment®.
Chesley is actively involved in the entertainment industry and professional trade organizations including SMPTE, the Hollywood Post Alliance™, Themed Entertainment Association, Digital Cinema Society, the Giant Screen Theatre Association, and the Turnaround Management Association.
Chesley is based in Los Angeles and reports to Malonowski.
