(Amsterdam-IBC--July 29, 2009) Cinegy will unveil the latest version of cinegy workflow, its award-winning media asset management and archive solution, powered by a host of new features and improvements designed to help broadcasters, post houses and others improve their digital workflow and the underlying infrastructure.

Cinegy will be exhibiting at Stands 7.A3 and 7.A43. IBC will be held 10-15 September in Amsterdam.

Two new Cinegy modules will be introduced at the show-cinegy cinebridge, used to integrate popular third party applications into cinegy workflow, and cinegy gateway, used to convert SD and HD SDI streams into a broadcast quality SMPTE-compliant RTP/UDP streams and back. Cinegy will also unveil support for Panasonic's AVC-Intra HD video format and a new graphical user interface for cinegy workflow.

"Broadcasters and post houses are looking for ways to improve their digital production workflows while keeping costs to a minimum," explained Cinegy Managing Director Daniella Weigner. "Cinegy appreciates those concerns and we are developing new tools and options designed to make digital workflows even more efficient and more cost effective. At IBC, we will demonstrate several new technologies that will significantly further those goals. The developments in IP infrastructure technology enable most of the expensive SDI cabling costs to be removed from the budget, while the increased efficiencies lead to a reduced operating expenditure over time."

cinegy cinebridge allows any software that supports AVI file format to directly access media stored on cinegy media archive without conversion. That includes most popular editing, visual effects and graphics software. cinegy cinebridge accomplishes this task by creating AVI files simulations and rendering frames as it reads them. Regardless of their original format, these simulated AVI files appear as normal AVI files to the integrated application, even when the original media involves multiple codec formats such as H.264, MPEG2 and MXF. As the simulated AVI files are created on the fly, no storage is required and no conversion time is lost.

Significantly, cinegy cinebridge also has the ability to function as a virtual file server, allowing third party applications to access assets on cinegy workflow as if they were locally stored without export or conversion.

cinegy gateway has the ability to convert multiple SD or HD SDI streams into a broadcast quality SMPTE-compliant RTP/UDP stream or vice versa. Conversion is done with user-definable quality settings that meet the most demanding broadcast requirements. cinegy gateway serves as a bridge or edge device into IP video and Ethernet networking based signal infrastructures allowing step-by-step SDI to IP migration.

Combined with cinegy monitor (also introduced earlier this year at NAB) cinegy gateway makes it possible to monitor both SDI and IP streams simultaneously, achieving the same results as a hardware multi-monitor solution with greater functionality and far less cost.

Cinegy's new support for Panasonic's AVC-Intra HD video format allows media in AVC-Intra format to be ingested directly from SDI or imported from Panasonic's P2 cards. cinegy workflow works natively in AVC-Intra and many other MPEG formats including long GOP, MPEG2 and H.264. Resolutions and codecs can be mixed.

cinegy workflow's new GUI is a complete redesign and takes advantage of new Windows user interface functionality and adding support for Windows 7.
