Sherlock Holmes Returns Home to Baker Street in OOH Promotion

(December 4, 2009) Warner Bros. Pictures launches an Out of Home campaign this week for the forthcoming film Sherlock Holmes.

The 3 week vinyl sticker campaign will dominate the mid level concourse at Baker Street Tube Station, for its connection to the fictional detective who lived at 221B Baker Street, now the Sherlock Holmes Museum.

The vinyl campaign features Sherlock Holmes as played by Robert Downey JR, and announces the Boxing Day UK cinema release date. The campaign consists of 661 vinyl panels measuring 200 by 195mm which appear in a chequer pattern interspersed between existing wall tiles featuring the profile of pipe smoking Holmes which continue to be a landmark feature at Baker Street station.

The campaign was planned and booked by Kinetic and is supported by national 96 sheets and 6 sheets.

About the Movie
In a dynamic new portrayal of Arthur Conan Doyle’s most famous characters, “Sherlock Holmes” sends Holmes and his stalwart partner Watson on their latest challenge. Revealing fighting skills as lethal as his legendary intellect, Holmes will battle as never before to bring down a new nemesis and unravel a deadly plot that could destroy the country.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, the action-adventure mystery stars Robert Downey Jr. as the legendary detective and Jude Law as Holmes’ trusted colleague, Watson. Rachel McAdams stars as Irene Adler, the only woman ever to have bested Holmes and who has maintained a tempestuous relationship with the detective. Mark Strong stars as their mysterious new adversary, Blackwood. Eddie Marsan plays Inspector Lestrade and Kelly Reilly plays Watson’s love interest, Mary.

Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, a Silver Pictures Production, in association with Wigram Productions, a Guy Ritchie Film, “Sherlock Holmes.” Ritchie directed the film from a screenplay by Michael Robert Johnson and Anthony Peckham and Simon Kinberg, screen story by Lionel Wigram and Michael Robert Johnson. Joel Silver, Lionel Wigram, Susan Downey and Dan Lin produced the film, with Michael Tadross and Bruce Berman serving as executive producers and Steve Clark-Hall co-producing.

“Sherlock Holmes” will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in select territories by Village Roadshow Pictures. Sherlock Holmes is in cinemas across the UK from Boxing Day 2009
