(St. Louis, MO--April 14, 2010) NAB BOOTH SL-8922 – Studio Network Solutions (SNS), a premier provider of post-production storage products for video and audio workgroups, today announced immediate availability of SANmp version 3.1 SAN sharing software, bringing many new features as well as the ability to download and try it free on an unlimited number of computers.
SANmp SAN sharing software allows multiple users to access the files on a Fibre Channel or iSCSI SAN, enabling everyone to capture, share and edit directly onto a storage system in real-time -- improving collaboration and eliminating wasted time copying files.
"We encourage anyone with a Fibre Channel or iSCSI system to download and try SANmp," stated Gary Holladay, President of Studio Network Solutions. "If you've just bought storage and haven't decided how you'll share it, this is the perfect opportunity to install SANmp on all of your computers and give it a thorough trial. It's extremely reliable, easy to setup and very, very fast."
SANmp offers the benefits of safely sharing all of the storage on a SAN, but without the administrative complexities of clustered file systems. SANmp works at the volume level with native file systems such as HFS+ and NTFS and doesn't need any metadata network or special servers. It is easily deployed and can be used with anywhere from two to hundreds of users. Customers include NBC Universal, Volvo, ITV, Ubisoft, Technicolor, Blackbird Studios and thousands more.
SANmp is compatible with Final Cut Pro, Avid, Adobe Premiere Pro, Pro Tools, Smoke, and most similar applications for Mac and Windows. It is also compatible with most popular storage arrays, Fibre Channel HBAs, as well as the free SNS globalSAN and Microsoft iSCSI initiators.
For more information about SANmp, visit SNS at NAB 2010 in booth SL8922 and in its partners' locations, SL7708 (Square Box Systems) and SL9712 (Marquise Technologies). Square Box Systems will be demonstrating the workflow benefits of its popular CatDV media asset management software running directly on an Evo shared storage system shared by SANmp. Marquise Technologies will be demonstrating the benefits of its M I S T solo product -- a real-time 4K/2K/HD/SD player dedicated to quick reviews and Quality Control for film scanner operators, 2D/3D animators and matte painters -- in an environment facilitated by an Evo storage system and SANmp.
