(Reno, Nevada--June 16, 2010) SAN Solutions, a media infrastructure company that provides storage and application platforms to the media and entertainment markets, today announced that Harry Aine, company president and CEO, will be presenting at Broadcast Engineering magazine's IT and Digital Workflow Boot Camp.

Scheduled for June 22 and 23 at the New Yorker Hotel in New York City, the two-day educational conference is designed to give attendees the opportunity to learn from key industry experts. Aine's presentation, "Network Storage for Media Applications – DAS, NAS and SAN," will take place at 11:15 a.m. on June 22.

During his presentation, Aine will examine Direct-Attached Storage (DAS), Network-Attached Storage (NAS), and Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions, exploring the strengths and weakness of each and discussing the types of storage most appropriate to specific media applications. The session also will incorporate a review of the topologies and protocols unique to each storage model, as well as the basics of setup, maintenance, and upgrades.

"Storage serves as the foundation for today's digital media workflows, and my goal at the Broadcast Engineering Boot Camp is to help attendees gain a thorough understanding of how to identify the optimal network storage solution for their own media applications," said Aine.

Other topics in Aine's session will include a look at RAID levels and strategies, a comparison of Fibre Channel and iSCSI SAN systems, and consideration of cost of ownership in deploying a new media storage infrastructure.

Aine is recognized as an expert in the design, development, and delivery of high-performance SANs, distributed file systems, and other advanced storage and processing solutions for the broadcast and media industries. Prior to founding SAN Solutions, he served as product manager and business development manager at MountainGate, creating the CentraVision product line that eventually became Quantum's StorNext.
