(Burbank, California--December 1, 2010) REDucation, the first RED sanctioned training program focusing on RED cameras, was launched in 2009 to put the latest information in front of the community of RED users. Since its inception, it has become the de facto standard for training on the evolving RED camera line.
From December 7th - 12th, 2010, REDucation sessions will take place at RED Studios in Hollywood, California, and will include a focus on the highly anticipated Epic Camera.
RED’s own Ted Schilowitz will bring the Epic to REDucation, fresh from an extended Asian tour (see video links below). Schilowitz will be joined by Mark L. Pederson of OFFHOLLYWOOD who is at work on a variety of top tier RED and 3D projects in LA, NY and internationally.
Schilowitz stated, “As the needs of the community and the product line has evolved, REDucation has too, and this latest session will be really valuable for the changing production and post landscape, including 3D. I look forward to showing off the Epic at REDucation; and along with Mark Pederson, covering much of the end to end process of shooting and posting on RED projects of all types and for all forms of distribution. We are consistently impressed with the caliber of REDucation participants and the lively environment that emerges over the week, and I personally am looking forward to another run of the class, for the first time at our very own RED studios, right in the heart of Hollywood"
As always, the full pre to post RED workflow will be covered in the immersive sessions. REDucation, which is usually a 5-day class, has been expanded in December to 6 days to include a 1-day intensive session on Shooting in 3D with RED. The other days include 2.5 days of Camera tech and on set practices, 2.5 days of Post Production for both on set and off set (post environment) editorial, color grading and DI finishing for TV and Theatrical deliverables. Classes are completely hands-on with RED camera packages, extensive support gear, 4k and 2k projection, workstations for On set Tech training and post production training, and 4k stations for screening student projects shot in 4k.
