(Los Angeles, California--June 6, 2012) Wondros, Los Angeles has added lauded commercial, music video, TV and feature film director Peter Care to their roster. Care comes to Wondros from Bob Industries. He has helmed spots for nearly every major brand in the world, directed the cult classic feature, The Dangerous Lives Of Altar Boys, and was given MTV’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006 for his extensive work in music videos.

Born in southwest England, Care first developed a passion for filmmaking while studying at Falmouth Art College and later the School Of Art in Sheffield. After graduating, Care, with four others, formed the Sheffield Independent Film Company, a non-profit funded by the British Film Institute, the United Nations and Channel Four. It quickly grew to become the country’s largest filmmaking center outside of London, running workshops and helping people make both documentaries and dramatic films.
Care’s first music video sensation was “Sensoria” for Cabaret Voltaire, followed by many others for such U.K. artists as Fine Young Cannibals, Bananarama and Depeche Mode. “Sensoria” landed in the Top 40 of the MTV Viewers’ Chart, was named Best Video of the Year by the Los Angeles Times, and was among the first three music videos ever to be procured by the Museum of Modern Art for its permanent collection.
In 1986 he moved to Los Angeles, where he quickly made a name for himself with a series of groundbreaking music videos for the likes of Tina Turner, Los Lobos, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and R.E.M. Care also began directing commercials for Satellite, the sister company of Propaganda, and later Bob Industries. His credits included spots for Coca-Cola, Levi’s, Microsoft, Lee Jeans, Sprint, MTV, JVC, Diet Coke, Verizon, Saturn, AT&T, Nikon, Burger King and T-Mobile to name a few.
In 2002, Care’s first feature film, The Dangerous Lives Of Altar Boys was released after enjoying great success at Sundance. It received glowing reviews from the US press, earned an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature, and became a cult classic once released on DVD.
Earlier this year, Care released “Johnny YesNo Redux,” a DVD made for Cabaret Voltaire and Mute Records featuring a re-imagined short film Care originally directed in 1982.
