Illumination Dynamics Supplies Power & Lighting to 17th Annual Winter X Games

(Los Angeles, California--January 30, 2013) Illumination Dynamics (ID), an ARRI Group Company, once again provided power, distribution and lighting for the Winter X Games in the frigid mountains of Aspen, Colorado. As the world’s greatest gathering of winter action sport athletes, this four-day competition comprised of day and night events including snowboarding, skiing and snowmobiling.

Countless challenges were presented in order to turn a remote ski resort on Buttermilk Mountain into a fully equipped sports venue for the special live telecast. ID’s crew endured harsh conditions to supply numerous generators, over 14 miles of cable and multiple light fixtures -- all delivered by ID’s robust fleet of tractors and trailers. In their 12th year supporting Winter X, Illumination Dynamics experienced high elevation (8,000 ft.), sub-zero temperatures, and extremely long hours to help produce the flawless, live television broadcast.
