Glue Tools, LLC Releases Cineon/DPX Toolkit v4.0 for MacOSX

(Santa Barbara, California--February 22, 2013) Glue Tools, LLC is very excited to announce Cineon/DPX Toolkit v.4.0 (an update to Cineon/DPX Pro 3.5).

Cineon/DPX Toolkit v4.0 has been re-written to take advantage of the latest high performance technologies available. For example, on the most recent Macbook Pro (Retina) laptop, it is possible to do 2K DPX playback with a USB 3 or Thunderbolt RAID drive. This was impossible a few years ago.

This updated package contains the following improvements:

• OpenCL/GPU Acceleration if available

• Improved LogC and Color accuracy with QuickTime

• Simplified Menu Options

• Improved 3DLUT support

• Dramatically improved export speeds.

It has been more than 10 years since Glue Tools first released the Cineon and DPX QuickTime components. Back in early 2003, Glue Tools was the first to get QuickTime to natively support a film based digital file format. The industry has dramatically changed since then. Film is now not as common, and digital cinema cameras are an every day production tool. Even as film is moving on, everyone still uses the same common DPX file format that was devised more than a decade ago.

Take it for a test drive today:

Cineon/DPX Toolkit v4.0 for MacOSX is priced at $399 with an update price of $199 to existing Cineon/DPX Pro v3.5 owners. Products are currently available through Glue Tools’ website:
