Marquis to Show Medway V3 at NAB

(March 6, 2013) Marquis Broadcast, specialist in content workflows and media integration software, is set to demonstrate the enhanced control capabilities of Medway V3, the latest version of its flagship media integration product, at NAB 2013 on booth SL13008.

“Complex digital workflows are hampered by expensive and repetitive operations brought on by file incompatibilities,” explains Chris Steele, product manager, Marquis Broadcast. “Medway V3 can be described as an ‘interoperability engine’ that delivers cost-effective integration between leading broadcast content applications, ensuring products such as Edit Platforms, either standalone or using Shared storage and third-party MAMs and automation systems can work seamlessly together.

“The new version of Medway will now include various enhancements to continue to improve the efficiency and ease of digital workflows,” continues Steele. “For example, new features include: support for lossy and lossless JPEG 2000 encoding and support for H.264 encoding for proxy creation.

“The H.264 support is being shown in an Avid proxy workflow where ingested media is prepared for the off-line edit after which Medway can deliver full resolution trimmed media for Avid to perform the relink and on-line and finishing,” confirms Steele. “This is a significant step forward and should allow for edit workflows which are faster, less resource-intensive and yet produce results of the highest possible quality.”

Medway V3 also supports AS-02, the AMWA standard for versioning of sequences.
