(London--March 27, 2013) SGO is a proud sponsor of the 3D Creative Summit produced by Ravensbourne Collage and The International 3D Society. It takes place at London’s BFI which features talented people behind the best 3D films and television programmes of the past year.
A series of exclusive screenings and in-depth Q & A’s with some of the industry's leading practitioners line-up an exciting event including the first 3D Producer’s Lab.

Academy Award Winning Director Ang Lee joins the summit for an exclusive interview live from New York, and will share with the audience his experiences in overcoming the technical and creative challenges on the awe-inspiring Life of Pi and his post-Oscar thoughts for the future. The high-profile panel of speakers also includes famous names such as Sir David Attenborough, Declan Lowney (director of Mr Stink), Phil McNally from Dreamworks, Chris Parks (Vision 3), Steve Schklair (3Ality), John Cassy (Sky 3D) and many other well-respected figures such as SGO’s Director of Global Sales and Operations Geoff Mills, Park Road’s Head of Technology Phil Oatley and Lead Stereoscopic Artist Meetal Gokhul,

SGO’s Geoff Mills will take part in a discussion titled “3D Post — Quicker, Smarter, Easier” at 3pm on the 28th March with Andy Shelley (ONSIGHT), David Wigram and hosted by Jonathan Tustain to discuss how post production has adapted and improved at a remarkable rate to make 3D more streamlined for productions. The session introduces some of the leaders in 3D post and explains how workflows and technologies have evolved to make the process better than ever.
SGO customer Park Road’s Phil Oatley and Meetal Gokhul will fly over especially from New Zealand to discuss some of the insights and challenges of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. This exceptional film is the world’s first Digital Cinema Release in Stereo 3D 48 high frame rate and is a pioneering adventure. To view the schedule of events over both days, please visit

A Mistika suite will also be present in The Atrium for visitors on Wednesday 27th March for half an hour demonstrations which will take place at 11am, 1pm and 3pmfollowed by Q & A’s.
SGO’s Mistika Application Specialist Sam Sheppard will be on hand to explain how Mistika has been at the forefront of the Stereo 3D revolution and why it has been adopted by leading industry professionals across the world for both broadcast and film.

Mistika was used in a plethora of notable Stereo 3D films and programmes which include the world-first HFR film The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Little Crackers, Mr Stink (the BBC’s first scripted Stereo 3D drama), Galapagos 3D, Kingdom of Plants 3D, Storm Surfers 3D, Flying Monsters 3D with David Attenborough, The Amazing Spiderman, Prometheus, Asterix & Obelix: On Her Majesty's Service and many others.
Other exciting new film projects which are currently in post production using Mistika and have not yet been released, include Inside the Mind of Leonardo, The Great Gatsbyand Star Trek Into Darkness.
