(Las Vegas NAB Show, Nevada--April 6, 2013) Ross Video announced that they have been working closely with Semtech in the research and development of products using their new 6G UHD-SDI technology and will be show casing a technology demo at this NAB.
The technology demo demonstrates the distribution of 6Gb/s signal with impressive performance specifications. The new 6G technology extends standard copper coax cabling with longer distances for today’s 3Gb/s and 1.5Gb/s transmissions and opens the opportunity to multiplex up to 4 1.5Gb/s or 2 3Gb/s signals onto a single link. Other potential 6 Gb/s solutions are the transport and distribution of 1080p 3D and dual link 6Gb/s + 6Gb/s, UHDTV and 4K digital cinema transmission.
“This technology helps to prepare the industry for potentially new higher data rate formats while at the same offers improved performance at today’s data rates” explains Eric Goodmurphy, Director of Infrastructure business, Ross Video. “Working with Semtech on this new technology has truly been privilege and allowed us to take an early leadership role in the future of advanced technologies.
