Sorenson Media Hires Action Sports & Digital Marketing Veteran Dan Maiman as New Director of Marketing


Sorenson Media has announced that it has hired action sports and digital marketing specialist Dan Maiman as its new director of marketing.

(San Diego, California--May 9, 2013) Maiman is a highly accomplished marketer, with nearly 15 years of experience in driving strategic brand development and growth, project management and digital media initiatives. Initially tagged by Sorenson Media to direct strategy and implement measures for the marketing campaign surrounding the recently released Sorenson Squeeze 9, Maiman will now oversee all aspects of marketing, creative and branding for the company and its industry-leading video encoding solutions. In his new role, he will be responsible for overall strategy, creative direction, content creation, production, advertising, digital and direct marketing.

Immediately prior to joining Sorenson Media, Maiman worked at Rockstar Energy as its director of marketing and communications, where he restructured the marketing department to maximize performance, helped launch its new global website, and oversaw its Australian distributor. Prior to Rockstar, Maiman led the global marketing effort at Vans to solidify the company as a premier action sports brand. Part of those efforts included developing the company's mobile marketing program, which resulted in the creation of the first branded mobile video game app and the first live event-streaming app in the action sports industry.

Earlier in his career, Maiman also held marketing and product development roles at Quiksilver, and Market Wire. He holds a bachelor's degree in visual communications from Cal State University San Marcos.
