(Davie, Florida--August 20, 2013) GLOOKAST, innovator in MXF workflow applications and Object Matrix, trusted manufacturer of secure nearline storage platforms, today announce that they have been chosen to automate the ingest and protection of all footage produced by the NBA champions -- the Miami Heat.
With the ongoing success of the Miami Heat NBA franchise, there is a greater demand for a wider variety of content. The footage created by the media team at the Miami Heat needs to be ingested and secured to ensure a fast turnaround of incoming media to finished content being broadcast. Some of the challenges they faced were:
- How to store incoming content using an affordable parking storage solution
- How to manage various formats and wrappers during the ingest process
- How to create links between full resolution and low resolution content from within the production environment
After considering many different options including additional on-line storage, a strategic decision was made to implement a tiered-storage solution thus ensuring the content resides on the most appropriate tier of storage at any given stage of the production workflow. The vendors chosen to implement that strategic vision, GLOOKAST
and Object Matrix
, were selected as they have the proven capabilities and products to overcome those workflow challenges.
The combined solution provides efficiencies through automation of the ingest process thereby ensuring the best use of the storage infrastructure. The automated process also enables the media team at the Heat to spend less time on laborious and often error prone tasks.
“We have been working with the Heat for six months on designing the appropriate workflow that both meets their requirements while also staying within budget. The combination of GLOOKAST’s ingests solutions along with Object Matrix’s storage technology allowed us to provide a solution that exceeded their expectations”, said Edel Garcia, Executive VP of Sales, GLOOKAST.
Nick Pearce, co-founder of Object Matrix stated “The interest in the integrated workflow has been strong across the USA and Europe since we announced it at NAB this year. To win our first U.S. customer with that workflow is very exciting and more so that the customer is the Miami Heat.”
GLOOKAST develops innovative, modular tools for the design and implementation of true multi-format, multi-resolution MXF workflows. GLOOKAST removes the complexity of capturing, sharing, managing, converting and distributing content through seamless integration across multiple platforms. As file-based workflows grow in complexity, diversity and size, so does the need for a scalable solution, capable of tight integration with real-time, multi-vendor, video production processes. GLOOBOX was engineered to fulfill these needs. http://www.glookast.com
