BRW USA Adds Director James Mann

(Los Angeles, California--September 25, 2013) BRW USA, Los Angeles, has signed director James Mann for U.S. commercial representation. The award-winning feature film director is best known for his critically acclaimed thriller “Desert Son,” which follows three orphans struggling to survive in the midst of several desperate crimes.

Mann’s commercial experience includes spots for Etsy,,( MTV, Echo Park Guitars, and LASCO. Mann’s signature style is a creative combination of visual and heartfelt storytelling that leads to true, immediate and direct moments.

Armed with a BS in Comparative Literature, Film and Photography from Washington University in St. Louis, New Jersey native James Mann headed to Los Angeles and kicked off his professional film career with several years as a set lighting technician, camera operator and second unit director of photography. After earning an MFA from the Art Center of College and Design, he spent time as a D.P. on numerous award-winning independent films, documentaries, music videos and commercial projects. He leveraged his international travels from these years as inspiration for his feature directorial debut “Desert Son,” which was well received in the festival circuit and press alike. Mann’s talent for uncovering and communicating the intricate characters of real people can be seen in his branded docu-style content for brands such as Etsy, Echo Park Guitars and LASCO, among others. When not directing, he enjoys maintaining his renaissance man status by keeping up with his multifarious interests for photography, writing, music, architecture, interior design, fashion, food, fine wood working and home brewing.
