Karla Crawford Kerr from Hawthorne Direct Earns DRMA 2013 "Member of the Year" Award Nomination

(Los Angeles, California--November 25, 2013) Karla Crawford Kerr, Director of Business Development and Corporate Relations, for Hawthorne Direct, a full service brand response advertising agency, has earned a Direct Response Marketing Alliance (DRMA) 2013 “Member of the Year” Award nomination. The awards event will be held during DRMA’s “Winter Bash” in New York City on December 10th.

The Direct Response Marketing Alliance and Response Magazine have just announced their 10 nominees for the Third Annual DRMA Member of the Year Award. After a nominating process led by the Response Magazine and DRMA staff, this year’s group of nominees will compete to succeed 2012 winner Nancy Lazkani of Icon Media Direct. The DRMA Member of the Year salutes an employee or leader of a DRMA member company who, during the past year, has exemplified the best and most consistent values of the direct response marketing business, and has promoted both the value of DR marketing and the DRMA far and wide.

“This is truly an exclusive group: 10 of the DR industry’s best have earned this nomination for the third annual DRMA Member of the Year competition,” says John Yarrington, publisher of Response and co-founder of the DRMA. “These nominees symbolize the industry’s best values, while also working diligently to expand the scope of the industry and the DRMA throughout the past year.”

The DRMA Member of the Year will be determined by an E-mail vote from Alliance members. Representatives of DRMA member companies will receive a special online ballot on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Karla Crawford Kerr is the Director of Business Development and Corporate Relations for Hawthorne Direct. With over 15 years of brand response television expertise, she works with prospective and existing clients to optimize brand response television success. She is a leader in the company’s marketing and business development arenas, specializing in public relations, event/trade show planning and account management. Karla was named Volunteer of the Year in 2004 by the Electronic Retailing Association. She has judged the Moxie Awards since 2005, and has also been a co-presenter at the Moxies. Karla was accepted to the Direct Marketing Association Broadcast Council
Operating Board, and has served on the DMA Broadcast Council Operating Committee. She was also co-chair of programming for that organization for two years.
