Two Films Created By The D4D Are Shortlisted For The OneScreen Festival

(New York, United States--January 9, 2014) The D4D's "A Universal Language" and "A Beautiful, Artistic Symphony" have been shortlisted for the OneScreen film festival in the documentary category. OneScreen is an extension of the One Club's mission to elevate the creative standards in advertising and design in all its forms. The winning films will screen on January 28th, 2014 at the Sunshine Cinemas in New York.

"A Universal Language" features UC Berkeley linguistics lecturer Patrick Boudreault, who is deaf, contemplating the universality of language, whether it's communicated with our hands or our voice. Boudreault's signed conversation is complemented by motion typography, which illustrates his thoughts on language to those not fluent in ACL.

In "A Beautiful, Artistic Symphony" UC Davis brewing science professor Charles Bamforth (aka The Pope of Foam) delves into the art & science behind creating the perfect glass of beer. Both films were directed by The D4D's Creative Director Matt Checkowski and are part of an expansive short film series for the University of California featuring many of the institutions thought leaders who are changing the way we interpret and experience the world.
