Academy Award Nominations for TODD-SOUNDELUX's Wylie Stateman and Beau Borders

(Hollywood, California--January 16, 2014) Supervising Sound Editor Wylie Stateman and Re-recording Mixer Beau Borders of TODD-SOUNDELUX were among the honorees this morning, as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the nominees for this year’s Academy Awards.

Both were nominated for their work on “Lone Survivor,” a project which has received highly positive response from critics and audiences alike for its unique use of sound. Stateman received his nomination on the Best Sound Editing category, and Borders was nominated for Best Sound Mixing.

“We are grateful to the Academy and its members for recognizing the work of Wylie Stateman, Beau Borders, and their teams at TODD-SOUNDELUX on this achievements in support of a wonderful and important project,” said David F. Alfonso, the owner and chairman of TODD-SOUNDELUX. “Wylie and Beau are exceptional and unique artist, whose passion and drive for excellence in sound is vividly apparent to anyone who has ever worked with them, and which is reflected in the notable collection of filmmakers who look to Wylie and Beau as key creative collaborator on their projects.”

This is Stateman’s seventh nomination. His previous nominations include “Django Unchained” (2013); “Inglourious Basterds” (2010); “Wanted” (2009); “Memoirs of a Geisha” (2006); “Cliffhanger” (1994); and “Born on the Fourth of July” (1990).

This is the first Academy Award nomination for Borders.

The 86th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
