(Dubai, United Arab Emirates--January 21, 2014) Stand B6-30, CABSAT, Cobham, the RF specialist company backed by more than 40 years of experience in transmitting and receiving information in difficult electronic environments, will demonstrate “SOLO7 Nano HD”, the world’s smallest wireless HD transmitter, at CABSAT 2014.

The ultra miniature Nano HD is an HD digital video transmitter designed specifically for POV and body-worn applications.

With proven Cobham COFDM and H.264 encoding technology at its core, the transmitter provides excellent image quality retention over the wireless link and supports composite, SDI, HD-SDI and HDMI video input formats.

“Television is driven by high quality images and the ability to deliver them fast and reliably,” said Stuart Brown, broadcast systems director of Cobham. “Nano HD now enables broadcasters and production teams to confidently go where they’ve never gone before to capture and deliver stunning HD images – wirelessly – that will retain viewers’ attention and spark their imagination.

“Because of its miniscule size and powerful capabilities, Nano HD’s possibilities are virtually limitless.”

The small size and ultra-low power consumption also make the Nano HD ideal for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) applications, enabling for the first time true long-range HD broadcasting from these popular devices. Optional lightweight, low power consumption amplifiers are available for even greater range capability.

The Nano HD Transmitter offers numerous modulation options to suit various deployment scenarios including DVB-T modulation for full HD quality and compatibility with existing systems; Cobham UMVL modulation for enhanced high speed operation (motorsports) and improved performance at high frequencies (6 & 7GHz); and Cobham Narrowband (2.5 MHz), Ultra Narrowband (1.25 MHz) and Ultra-X (625 kHz) bandwidths. The narrowband modes enable users to share scarce spectrum allocation extremely efficiently.

A simple aluminium lightweight case is supplied and features an industry standard SMA RF connector. The Nano HD Transmitter can be controlled via either USB or via RS232. The versatile and intuitive Cobham Field Controller can also be used.

Nano HD will be demonstrated at CABSAT 2014 in Hall 2, Stand B6-30. For more information, visit
