(Las Vegas, Nevada--April 7, 2014) Today, Ross Video announced that it’s launching UX Design, a unique Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Set (VS) design department, as part of its acquisition of Unreel LLC, the leading AR and VS solutions provider. UX Design is being launched in cooperation with a number of key industry partners, and Ross Video is excited to be demonstrating its AR/VS solutions in the Ultimatte and ProCyc booths at NAB this year. Ross Video also announced that it is entering into a reseller partnership with General Lift for jib encoders.

“At Ross, we understand that the key to customer success with AR and VS is the integration of design and technology,” says Dave Larson, General Manager of Ross Video AR/VS solutions. “To help customers integrate AR and VS into existing and new studios, Ross Video AR/VS will focus on delivering complete and comprehensive solutions that incorporate best-in-class products from Ross Video and other complementary third-party service providers. To this end, Ross Video will continue to work with and, in some cases, resell third-party products and services to ensure it can provide end-to-end solutions that meet customers’ needs.”

About UX Design
UX Design delivers an all-inclusive, end-to-end service that covers the entire design process from project definition and design to 3D fabrication and implementation. This breadth and depth maximizes system performance for customers. UX Design is structured to collaborate with design firms, virtual set designers and builders based on a customer’s needs, resources and relationships.

“For NAB 2014, UX Design is partnering with Full Mental Jacket for virtual set design and William Drescher for augmented reality and motion graphics designs to demonstrate the power of Ross Video’s innovative and exciting “Studio of the Future,” says Chris Mollomo, Manager of UX Design. “These demonstrations will be at the Ross booth (N3806). Also at NAB 2014, UX Design will be teaming with Dreamwall from Belgium to deliver VS and AR demonstrations at the Ultimatte booth (SL1105).”

UX Design intends to establish a wide range of partnerships that will enable it to deliver customized, seamless solutions that exactly meet the needs of each Ross Video AR/VS customer.

General Lift products
As part of its stated goal of delivering best-in-class, integrated AR and VS solutions to its customers, Ross Video will provide General Lift’s Jib Encoder Kits for CamMate and Jimmy Jib branded jib. This will enable Ross Video to offer a turnkey solution for those customers who wish to use jibs in their AR/VS productions. General Lift, which has served the motion picture, commercial film and broadcast business for more than 25 years, will be demonstrating the CamMate/Ross Video solution at the Ultimatte booth.
