(Amsterdam, IBC 2014--September 9, 2014) MOG, the leading provider of MXF and centralized ingest solutions, and Step2e Broadcast AG of Unterföhring (Munich), Germany, a leading supplier of innovative software based workflow solutions for broadcasters have currently established a technology partnership in order to deliver complete and highly effective solutions for the broadcast industry.
By partnering, the two companies will expand the range of their offer, delivering state-of-the-art technology and allowing broadcasters to concentrate on the creative part of the production work.
Both MOG and Step2e provide valuable tapeless solutions that cover all steps of production workflows from ingest to transcoding and transmission. The user will be able to perfectly ingest/capture contents using mxfSPEEDRAIL multi-format, multi-resolution, and multi-channel platform and then integrate into Step2e Media Asset Management, which will handle all types of media, combining them into one asset and enriching it with images, texts and rights information.
In this integrated scenario, mxfSPEEDRAIL will be covering the first phase of the production workflow, handling multiple simultaneous transfers with generation of hi-res and proxy versions, a capable and solid transcoding and rewrap system able to unify the media formats through the whole workflow, and edit-while-growing capabilities. Then, Step2e will work on top of mxfSPEEDRAIL ingested material importing the available contents and metadata information into the media asset manager.
mxfSPEEDRAIL is built with a powerful annotation metadata engine that easily integrates with the Step2e Media Asset Management solution. While mxfSPEEDRAIL preserves metadata when transferring clips and enables to add markers into the timeline, Step2e provides a sophisticated search engine with full text and truncated searches, allowing to filter the assets quickly and easily taking advantage of the metadata added during the ingest stage.
Besides these capabilities, mxfSPEEDRAIL’s intuitive SOAP API also enables the Step2e automation system to take advantage of ingest capabilities while controlling them.
“We are excited to partner with Stpe2e to deliver an integrated solution with broadcast-quality capabilities able to fit a wider range of deployments,” says Rui Pereira, COO of MOG.
“The partnership with MOG will add significant workflow benefits to the customers. End to end workflows from Ingest via MAM to Playout can be delivered seamlessly and generate highly efficient solutions,” says Peter Rampp, CEO of Step2e Broadcast.
MOG and Step2e are already working together at two European broadcasters’ successful installations, taking full advantage of both systems innovative capabilities.
