(Los Angeles, California--September 15, 2014) Hawthorne Direct, a full service Brand Response ad agency, has named Steve D’Amico as the agency’s new Vice President/Account Director. Jessica Hawthorne-Castro, CEO, Hawthorne Direct, made the announcement. Based in Los Angeles, D’Amico will report to George Leon, Hawthorne’s Senior Vice President of Media/Account Management.
In his new position, D’Amico will work closely with Hawthorne Direct’s creative, media and data science departments. He will both service and help grow the agency’s key brand response clients.

ABOUT STEVE D’AMICO:
Prior to joining Hawthorne Direct, Steve D’Amico worked at RAPP, leading customer acquisition campaigns for AAA/Auto Club, named by Harris Poll EquiTrend as P&C Insurance Brand of the Year. Prior to RAPP, as VP/Account Director for six years with Integrated Media Solutions (IMS) in both LA and New York City, D’Amico worked closely with that agency’s president/founder on large accounts and new business. IMS, a private company, was successfully sold in 2010 to MDC Partners, a few months after D’Amico helped lead a winning pitch for Liberty Medical (diabetic supplies, pharma & related services,) gaining TNS-estimated $65-million in billings while simultaneously defending online business in low eight figures. During his tenure with IMS, D’Amico also worked with JG Wentworth (financial services) and ClearChoice (dental implants).
Earlier in his career, D’Amico worked at LA-based Direct Partners, where he successfully launched Disney Movie Club, a home video/DVD continuity club and CRM initiative for Disney; it is now one of Disney’s most profitable home entertainment distribution channels. He was responsible for the club’s member acquisition campaigns, including creative development, testing, media/list management, and continuity/CRM/retention efforts. While with Direct Partners, D’Amico also worked on campaigns for PeoplePC (Earthlink’s value-segment Internet service provider).
Other early career positions held by D’Amico include Internal Consultant with LA-based Roll Global, and Marketing Analyst with the Los Angeles Philharmonic/Hollywood Bowl.
D’Amico holds an MBA from UCLA.
