(Los Angeles, California--September 26, 2014) Digital Jungle Pictures is proud to announce the completion of post production on its first feature-length film, titled “A Better Place.” The independent film centers upon Jeremy Rollins, a shy and introverted young man with an unusual supernatural ability that has required him to live as a virtual shut-in for most of his life. After the death of his over-protective mother forces him into the world, he must confront – through his childlike innocence - the realities of a harsh society and the cruelties of the people it produces.
“A Better Place” is the directorial debut of Dennis Ho, a longtime veteran of the entertainment & advertising industry and owner/president of Digital Jungle Post. Ho’s ambition to create the film centers on his unique view of the nature of karma, of the world we live in, and the law of unintended consequences
“I had a novel concept come into my mind, a boy with the power to reflect and redirect violence in a way that forces people to rethink their actions,” said Dennis Ho. “The story is an allegory that makes a statement about the world around us, but filtered through a fantasy lens.”
The movie features several actors making their first feature film debut, including Stephen Todt as “Jeremy,” Mary Ann Raemisch in a breakout performance as love interest “Jess” and rising star Garrett Wareing as “Young Jeremy.” Wareing stars in the upcoming film “Boy Choir” along Dustin Hoffman and Kathy Bates. “A Better Place” was his first full feature performance.
A 40 piece original orchestral score accompanies the film, composed by Jerome Leroy (“The Hunger Games”, “A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas”) with William Ross (“The Monuments Men,” “Ladder 49,” “The Tale of Despereaux”) serving as Executive Music Producer. Mr. Ross is also the music director for all of Barbara Streisand’s concerts.
