Opera TV Expands CLN ‘Everywhere Network’ Concept

(Atlanta, Georgia--October 23, 2014) Contemporary Living Network, Inc. (CLN) has entered into a distribution deal with Opera Software that will place the new lifestyle network on millions of Smart TV devices when it launches in early 2015. A multi-channel network, CLN will be distributed through both digital and traditional media outlets.

Says Walter Biscardi, Jr., President and Executive Producer of CLN, “Contemporary Living Network is designed for today’s digital lifestyle – the viewer decides how, where and when to watch our programming. We’re not a destination network, we’re an ‘everywhere network’ delivering actionable information for our viewers wherever they are. Partnering with Opera aligns perfectly with that concept.”

CLN’s videos will debut as apps in the Opera TV Store, Opera Software’s HTML5 application platform live with pay-TV operators and major manufacturers for Smart TVs, set-top boxes and Blu-ray Disc players. The apps were generated via the unique Opera TV Snap technology, which transforms online video channels into ready-to-run apps optimized for Smart TV devices – quickly, easily and at no cost. It enables video publishers like CLN to reach massive new audiences in living rooms across the globe

Opera TV also aligns with CLN’s media playback and analytical partner, Ooyala. “Opera TV Snap can pull our programming directly from our Ooyala library so that makes for a very seamless and easy transfer of shows from our servers to the Opera TV audience,” says Kevin McFeeley, Business Development Director for CLN. “Finding technology partners that work well together allows us to really concentrate on producing quality programming while our tech partners ensure our ‘everywhere network’ works seamlessly across all devices and platforms.”

CLN will launch with over a dozen original programs all produced in 4k UHD in the lifestyle genre channels of Food, Travel, Entertaining, Home, Lawn & Garden, Health & Fitness and Pets. Production is being overseen by Biscardi Creative Media, an award winning production team that has been a part of many original network programs including “Good Eats” with Alton Brown on the Food Network.
