IABM appoints Darren Whitehead as Director of Business Development

(Gloucestershire, UK--June 22, 2015) IABM is delighted to announce the appointment of Darren Whitehead to the position of Director of Business Development at the Association.

Darren has a background in exhibitions and events and has held many senior roles in this sector over a period of 25 years.

He has spent the last eight years of his career with IBC, helping to develop the event to where it is today. He has become well known to many in the industry during this time.

Peter White, CEO, IABM says: “With all that IABM offers today, it is important that we have someone who can develop a coordinated strategy for business growth and market development. Darren has the strengths in these key areas to help IABM progress. His knowledge of the industry, and the strong relationships he has built, will enable us to move forward more quickly and assuredly than before.

Darren will assume responsibility for transitioning the organisational strategy from a service-oriented ‘beneficial’ approach to a sales-oriented ‘customer service’ approach. He will assist the team in identifying opportunities for growth in both existing and new revenue streams.

Whitehead concluded: “Over the last few years, IABM has grown in stature and influence, and we have an ambitious development plan centred around the continued international growth of the Association. I am looking forward to help take the Association to the next level.”
