Connecting with people is intrinsic to Jeff Bednarz’ craft. Gorgeously traversing the Trinidad landscape, the project immersed talent and crew in local communities to create authentic filmed moments surrounding technology’s ability to unite. Capturing the angst of young love, spirit of sport, work, and play, “Hello World” tells a vibrant story of how friends and family share their lives. As a director who fluidly moves between documentary and scripted work, Bednarz blurred the lines with a hybrid of cast actors and real people in vignettes celebrating life’s small but powerful moments.
“Everyone on the project was deeply committed to preserving what makes this a unique part of the world,” says the director. “Agency and crew immersed themselves into the communities we filmed. Shooting it just felt like living it.”
