(London, UK--February 5, 2016) London AMPS is pleased to announce that ‘The Martian’ is the winner its 3rd annual award for ‘Excellence in Sound for a Feature Film’.
The AMPS award is open to be voted on by all full members of the association and goes to:
Mac Ruth (Production Sound Mixer), Oliver Tarney AMPS (Supervising Sound Editor)
Paul Massey (Re-recording Mixer).
Nominees were - Bridge of Spies, The Hateful Eight, The Martian, Spectre and Star Wars - The Force Awakens
AMPS has established itself as a respected organisation with a global membership of over 450 of the most imaginative and highly experienced recording, mixing and sound-editing professionals working in the cinema and television industries.

AMPS (The Association of Motion Picture Sound) was founded in 1989 by a UK based group of like-minded Film and Television sound professionals. The aim was to establish an organisation where those engaged in the various crafts of sound for moving images could exchange information, endeavour to solve common problems and keep abreast of rapidly changing technology.
