(Whitesboro, TX--November 7, 2016) Forensic video analysis – the science behind it and its impact on criminal justice – will be a key focus throughout much of the 2016 LEVA Video Evidence Training Symposium, which runs Nov. 14-18 at the Hilton Doubletree Paradise Valley in Scottsdale, Ariz. The 27th annual symposium of the Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Video Association International will feature a mix of seminars and hands-on workshops presented by LEVA certified forensic video analysts and other industry experts.

The two-day “Courtroom Testimony for Forensic Video Analysis,” for example, will help attendees become better expert witnesses, while the two-part “Forensic Video Workflow Workshop” will show how to access data on a DVR hard drive and guide attendees through hands-on techniques to expedite video analysis. Other sessions will examine digital image authentication as well as audio forensics and recovery. Beyond forensic video analysis, the conference will explore a number of other topics, including the growing use of body-worn video cameras.

“Every year, the LEVA training symposium attracts an international group of law enforcement professionals who are looking to improve their skills and better serve their communities,” said Jan Garvin, LEVA executive director. “The LEVA conference is the only event of its type in the world, and it offers invaluable training and networking opportunities.”

For the first time, LEVA will also offer a free CCTV seminar for homeowners and business owners during its conference. Hosted by LEVA experts, the seminar will help CCTV system owners and potential owners by exploring best practices for video surveillance systems. Seating is limited and attendees must register here by Nov. 11. A buffet lunch will be available for $10 and can be paid for on site at the LEVA Registration Desk.

For law enforcement video professionals, each conference session earns hours toward LEVA certification, though LEVA membership is not required to attend. Some sessions have limited availability and pre-registration is required. For conference schedule and pricing options, as well as hotel and travel information, visit leva.org.
