(September 16, 2020) Miniflix
is throwing its first-ever film festival focused on showcasing and celebrating women in film - Miniflix Presents: Women in Film Festival.
The festival is taking place online and kicks off September 17th and runs through September 20th. The festival includes screenings from Oscar-nominated and festival-winning female filmmakers from all over the world. The virtual VIP event on September 20th offers festival-goers the chance to meet and have compelling conversations with filmmaker panelists and network with players in the industry.
Screening offerings include 2019 Oscar nominee (Best Live Action Short Film) “Brotherhood” by Meryam Joobeur and 2020 Sundance Film Festival Nominee, “Paola Makes A Wish” by Zhannat Alshanova.
This is the inaugural film festival for Miniflix. Minflix.tv is a streaming service platform and marketplace that offers a wide variety of short-form content, award-winning movies, TV shows, anime, and documentaries.
“Miniflix set out on a mission to support emerging filmmakers and create an alternative to Youtube and Vimeo to provide filmmakers with an audience and a new way to monetize their work,” says Founder Wes Fleming. "We're hoping that this film festival kicks off our platform and celebrates these talented women in film and helps them receive the recognition they deserve.”
