(UK--October 20, 2020) IABM
, the international trade association for broadcast and media technology suppliers, today announced the appointment of Nathalie Schwarz to the role of Vice Chair of the Association. Nathalie’s appointment follows the retirement of Graham Pitman from the role in August this year having served the Association with great distinction for the last nine years.
Reporting to the IABM Members’ Board, the IABM Vice Chair plays a critical role in the governance and supervision of the Association. This includes satisfying legislative and regulatory obligations, ensuring transparency and integrity in everything the Association does, providing experienced counsel and inspiring best practice and excellence in its processes and activities, and ensuring these are aligned to the interests of the entire member community.
Nathalie brings a wealth of relevant experience to her new role with IABM. She has 20 years of Board level international strategic and operational business experience both as an Executive Director and also as a Non-Executive Director of both publicly listed and private equity owned companies at various stages of growth, from start-up to public ownership.
After graduating from the University of Manchester (LLB Hons), Nathalie began her career at leading global law firm Clifford Chance, qualifying as a corporate finance lawyer specialising in international mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, private equity and corporate restructurings.
Nathalie’s executive career then focused on the consumer media and digital sector, including in-depth experience in both TV and radio. Nathalie served as an Executive Director on the Boards of Channel 4 Television Corporation as Group Commercial and Corporate Development Director, and also Capital Radio PLC as Group Strategy and Development Director and PLC Company Secretary and General Counsel.
“I am very much looking forward to working with IABM in these exciting but challenging times,” Nathalie Schwarz said. “I have a lifelong passion for Broadcast, Media and Digital and I will be leaning heavily on my background in innovation and creativity in the industry to help forge its future with the IABM Board and team. I believe that every successful venture is underpinned by good governance and ethics alongside good legal and regulatory practices. Diversity plays an integral part in all of these – an inclusive, mutually respectful and supportive workplace is a successful and happy one. I will be working hard with IABM across all these fronts to help it to continue to support its members and flourish and expand in the future.”
“At the beginning of 2020 IABM committed to a program of reinvention to ensure that we continued to meet members’ needs as the Broadcast and Media industry we serve is itself undergoing a complete transformation,” said Peter White, CEO at IABM. “The coronavirus pandemic has greatly accelerated the changes that were already in train in the industry, and this in turn has required IABM to reshape itself to be faster, leaner and fitter while continuing to deliver business-essential services to our members.
“Nathalie’s enormous breadth and depth of experience in overseeing dramatic change in the organizations she has been involved with will be a tremendous benefit to IABM as we continue to reinvent the Association and serve all our members with ever-more relevant and timely services and support,” White concluded.
